A Talk by Jay Rubin, Harvard University
Renowned translator of the works of Murakami Haruki

Jay Rubin, Professor Emeritus of Japanese literature, Harvard University, and translator of numerous Japanese novels including those of Murakami Haruki and such other modern Japanese writers as Soseki and Akutagawa, will discuss the role of serendipity in the writing of his study, “Haruki Marukami and the Music of Words” (2002/2005/2008/2012), and his first novel, The Sun Gods (Chin Music Press, 2015). Audience members are encouraged to ask him questions about Japanese literature, language and culture!
