Give peace a chance, learn something new

There will be a student-organized march to call for change and peaceful alternatives to the war on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. The march will immediately follow a speech from author and political activist Michael Parenti. Parenti will speak on campus at noon for free and again at 7 p.m. for a sliding scale donation. Students interested in joining the march and hearing more speakers should meet at 1 p.m., directly following Parenti’s speech, on the west side of Smith Center. New research on English Civil War of 1640

Ohio State University Professor David Cressy will give a lecture, Babylon Is Fallen: Reformation and Revolution in England, 1640-1642, on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. The lecture, hosted by the Friends of History, is based upon Professor Cressy’s research for a forthcoming book dealing with political uncertainty and religious instability in England on the eve of their civil war. The event will take place in Smith Center room 338 and is free and open to the public. For more information contact the history department at 503-725-3917.
