Crime blottter
Board stiffed
Mathieu S. Gowdy, 20, was cited for criminal trespass at 10:50 p.m. Jan. 31. He was skateboarding under a “No Trespassing” sign in the University Center Building parking lot at Southwest Fifth Avenue and Mill Street.
Gowdy is a familiar face to CPSO officers. Criminal trespass citations are not normally issued unless the suspect has prior incidents on record.
Sublevel snooze
Duane L. Jensen, 45, was awakened by campus officers when found sleeping on the floor in the basement of Millar Library at 3:45 p.m. Feb. 1. Jensen was another familiar face to the CPSO force. His nap earned him a criminal trespass citation.
Art unappreciation
After a male tenant was evicted the first of the month from his apartment in Montgomery Hall, the apartment was discovered to have large graffiti painted on most of the walls. The discovery came soon after the man moved out.
The graffiti were meaningless, but were long, tall and bold. The height of most was estimated at 12 inches. College Housing Northwest elected not to press charges of criminal mischief. They will demand the man pay for the damage.
Beer bust
Four persons, including one underage female, were issued park exclusions after being discovered in the Park Blocks with open containers of beer. The incident occurred just after midnight Feb. 10.
Officers identified a second female as Lacy L. Lingenselter, 19. There were two males, Harry R. Simpson and Bradley J. Reeb, both 18.
Gone gear
A collection of 55 CDs was taken from a 1996 Honda Civic parked in Parking Structure 3. A passenger side front window and a left rear window, as well as the ignition column, were damaged.
The break-in occurred about 11:30 a.m. Feb. 6. The owner set the monetary loss at $825.
A purse was taken from a classroom on the fourth floor of Neuberger Hall at about 2 p.m. Feb. 11. It has been left unattended.
All items except the wallet and contents were later recovered in the classroom. The owner valued the lost property at $35.
Blunt response
Dustin W. Bumgarner, 18, and a male minor companion were interrupted as they engaged in the manufacture of blunts – cigars stuffed with marijuana.
Officers discovered them in a car on the roof of Parking Structure 1 at 10 p.m. Feb. 8.
Bumgarner and the minor both were cited for drug possession within 1,000 feet of a school. Bumgarner also was cited for endangering the welfare of a minor.
Officers contacted the minor’s mother, who authorized his release to Bumgarner’s custody with orders to be home in 20 minutes.
