Job-hunting resource list

Internet sites

www.oregonjobs.com

This site allows visitors to post their resume, search job listings by city, and should your current boss be watching you, it comes equipped with a panic button. The red button is conveniently located in the upper-left-hand corner of the screen and with one click sends the user to a page titled “13 Tips for More Effective Time Management.”

The best feature of the site (at least for college students on a budget) is the free cost to post your resume on the Internet to numerous companies in Oregon.

www.monster.com

Monster.com is a comprehensive staple for job seekers. The benefit of the site is the fact that job hopefuls can post a professional resume to any company, anywhere in the United States. As with oregonjobs.com, monster.com is a free service, which complements just about anyone’s pocketbook.

www.hr.das.state.or.us/jobs/

For those interested in governmental jobs, check out the State of Oregon Jobs Page. The site lists all current openings for state jobs and provides downloadable applications. The site includes other resources to assist in the job search, but at its best, it’s a government site (enough said).
