I was appalled at Kevin Mannix’s actions last Monday at the Willamette Week debate. He showed up late to a debate that was obviously focused on the youth of Portland. Mannix completely disregarded the real voters and the youth of this city, instead blowing us off to go to a timber industry fund raiser! He thinks that money will win this campaign and the will of corporations are obviously more important to him than that of the citizens. Maybe if he was a candidate that focused on issues and voters he wouldn’t need to prostitute himself to the corporate gods. He ignores the youth because he thinks we don’t matter. This is a call to action, fellow students, so get out there to vote and prove him wrong!
