Noon-1:15 p.m. Remembering Ruden: “Family Chronicle As a Window into a Pre-Holocaust Shtetl.” Judaic Studies Program Lecture. Hoping to raise funds for shtetlim back home, Horowitz’s grandmother arranged shoots of photos of friends, relatives, and familiar places like synagogues and schools which were sold to “rich” American immigrants. Presented by PSU history professor David Horowitz. Horowitz uses these rich images to recreate the lost world of his maternal hometown, Ruden. Event located in SMSU 328.

Oregonians for Health Security is seeking committed students to participate in its 2003 legislative campaign to bring a more quality, affordable and secure health-care system to Oregon. We are looking for interns to help with legislation, communications and health-care policy. Interns will be asked to help with event planning and implementation, health-care policy research and community outreach, just to name a few. Looking for a meaningful way to spend your vacation? Join us during the first weekend of spring break as we travel to Central Oregon to work on a project with Habitat for Humanity. Oregon Food Bank is looking for volunteers to assist in nutrition-education classes for low-income residents of Portland.
