Globally-minded students will have the chance to become acquainted with Portland State international groups at the first-ever International Opportunities Fair tomorrow, July 16.
The event, hosted by the Education Abroad Office, will include numerous activities, games, prizes, recourses and other goods aimed to teach students about international programs on campus.
“By attending the fair, students will be able to learn about how they can interact with the global community on campus,” stated Alyse Collins, assistant director of the education abroad office at Portland State University, via email.
Groups such as the International Cultural Service Program, the Russian Flagship Program, and the Middle East Studies Center, among several others, will be in attendance to educate and answer any student’s questions.
Each booth will have presentations, brochures, flyers and activities to encourage students to learn about campus services. They will offer “chances to win cool travel-focused prizes to those who show interest and engage with its events,” according to Collins.
Attendees will also receive complementary Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.
The International Opportunities Fair will take place at the South Park Blocks, outside of Smith Memorial Union, Thursday, July 16, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For more information visit the Education Abroad Office’s website.
