Men’s basketball falls short on the court

A great Viking basketball comeback was thwarted when Northwest Nazarene’s Daniel Nyom pulled off a quick shot with two seconds remaining to seal the Vikings’ loss, 75-73, at the Stott Center last Friday.

The Vikings trailed the majority of the game until a 21-7 run with less than six minutes left put them back in contention. Viking guard Will Funn popped in two free throws with 12 seconds left in the game to tie the score, but a tie was not in the cards for the Viks as Noym saved the day for the N.W. Nazarene.

Junior forward Seamus Boxley led the Vikings with 17 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots, but it was not enough to save the Vikings from their own mistakes. PSU has 23 turnovers; 13 in the second half. As a whole the Viks shot only 42 percent, while the Crusaders shot for 52 percent.

The Vikings will ready themselves to face the Washngton Huskies this Friday in Seattle.
