Douglas Samuels came to Portland State University in the summer of 2001 from Vermont Law School where he was an associate dean, overseeing student affairs and student services and activities.
He serves as the senior student affairs officer for Portland State. The position is responsible for enrollment management and student’s success. He oversees such programs and departments as admission and records, career services, Educational Equity, the former Student Development, now called Students Activities and Leadership Program, health services, financial aid, counseling and testing and the Information and Academic Support Center.
Samuels holds a doctorate of education from the University of Vermont and other advanced degrees from State University College at Buffalo, N.Y. His office is located at 349 Cramer Hall.
