Impending deadlines loom for students

Spring term has arrived and so has a host of new deadlines for students to be aware of.

In the unlikely event that concerns of graduation, finding summer employment or lining up financial aid were not enough to keep students on edge, tax time is here as well.

Students seeking financial aid for the coming school year should file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students can expect 3 to 4 months to pass between their completion of the FAFSA and an offer of financial aid; so early filing is advised. FAFSA forms are available in the financial aid office.

The Mathilda Goldsmith, Ivington Women’s Club, Mackenzie Family and Nancy Ryles Scholarships all share an April 9 deadline. Students looking to transfer from area community colleges should look into the PSU Community College Scholars Program the application deadline for which is July 1.
