Spectator speaker
“The Morality of Capitalism,” by Doug Bandow, Senior Fellow at Cato Institute. Both proponents and opponents of capitalism are invited to attend lecture, which will be followed by a Q&A period. Sponsored by Students for Intellectual Activism, Young America’s Foundation, PSU Speakers Board and co-sponsored by The Portland Spectator. Event located in CH 71. At 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30.
International Night
International Night 2002, “Citizens of the World” will include cultural entertainment, country booths, international food, fashion show and door prizes. This celebration of diversity and culture is sponsored by the Organization of International Students (OIS). Tickets for students are $4 in advance/$6 at the door and for the general public $5 in advance/$7 at the door. Tickets available in the OIS office, EH 222. Event located in SMC Third Floor Ballroom. Friday, April 26 6-10 p.m.
Awards ceremony
PSU salutes outstanding alumni, friends, faculty and students. Awards recipients will include Charles M. White, Ph.D., Emeritus Professor of History, Senator Margaret Carter, Oregon State Senator and President/CEO of the Urban League of Portland, among others. Hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer and soft drinks provided. Sponsored by PSU Alumni Association, PSU Foundation, the department of athletics and the Office of University Relations. Tickets cost $15.
