South African activists tour to reclaim narrative on apartheid

“Stop using apartheid for your own agenda,” said African National Congress (ANC) member and Africans for Peace activist Klaas Masilo while speaking out against divisive rhetoric in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during a speech last Friday. Mr. Masilo, a member of the student government at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, spoke to Portland State University students and members of the Portland community about the need for accurate language when discussing the Israel-Palestinian conflict.
